According to classical texts on Vedic astrology, the deity ruling Shatabhisha nakshatra is Varuna. Meditating with the mantra of your moon nakshatra is a powerful way to connect with the symbology of that nakshatra which will have a significant influence over your purpose in this life. Chanting the mantra of your nakshatra can also remedy or strengthen the placement of the moon in your chart. In the video below, we document the sound of a simple nama mantra of Varuna:
oṁ varuṇāya namaḥ
|| ॐ वरुणाय नमः ||
Listen to the sound and feel it working to transform your life or chant along with the video to meditate with this ancient mantra.

The Sanskrit “Varuna” (वरुण) can be translated to mean “he who covers or binds”, and refers to the ancient Vedic deity of water, including all of the rivers, oceans and seas (as well as the riches which come out of them). Varuna is also considered one of the twelve Adityas or forms of the Sun.
The ancient text Bhagavata Purana (Canto 2 Chapter 3 Texts 2-7) states kośa-kāmaḥ pracetasam. “Kośa” in this context can be translated to mean “accumulated wealth” or “treasury”. So this statement can be translated as “one who desires a good bank balance (kośa) should worship Varuṇa”.
Shatabhisha nakshatra is connected with themes related to healing and revitalization. Shatabhisha is often considered the star of concealment symbolizing the natives ability to conceal things from others or uncover things which have been concealed, or are hidden or unknown in general. This asterism is symbolized by an empty circle.
