According to classical texts on Vedic astrology, the deities ruling Ashlesha nakshatra are the Nagas, or semi-divine serpent beings. Meditating with the mantra of your moon nakshatra is a powerful way to connect with the symbology of that nakshatra which will have a significant influence over your purpose in this life. Chanting the mantra of your nakshatra can also remedy or strengthen the placement of the moon in your chart. In the video below, we document the sound of a simple nama mantra of the Nagas:
oṁ sarpebhyo namaḥ
|| ॐ सर्पेभ्यो नमः ||
Listen to the sound and feel it working to transform your life or chant along with the video to meditate with this ancient mantra.

The Sanskrit “Nāga” (नाग) can be translated to mean “cobra” or “serpent being”, and refers to a semi-divine race of half-human, half-serpent beings, also known as “Sarpa”. Ashlesha nakshatra is connected with themes related to poison, seduction, hypnotism, super-intelligence, hidden treasure, black magic and kundalini awakening. Ashlesha is often considered the star of embracing, entwinement or clinging. This asterism is symbolized by a coiled serpent.
