According to classical texts on Vedic astrology, the deity ruling Pushya nakshatra is Brihaspati, the Guru of the Gods. Meditating with the mantra of your moon nakshatra is a powerful way to connect with the symbology of that nakshatra which will have a significant influence over your purpose in this life. The Sanskrit “Bṛhaspati” (बृहस्पति) can be translated to mean “lord of prayer”, and refers to the the teacher or counselor of the Gods who is identified with the planet Jupiter in Vedic astrology. Pushya nakshatra is connected with themes related to intuitive wisdom, prosperity and spirituality. It is considered by many astrologers to be the most auspicious nakshatra. Pushya is often considered the star of nourishment. This asterism is symbolized by a cow’s udder or breasts.
